While we were in Phoenix, we were going to meet up with my best friend from high school, Jenny Bernot (now Medlock) and her husband Mark. We met at the State Park at 6 o'clock in the morning to go on the treasure Loop Trail. The boys only lasted about half a mile before they couldn't stand it anymore after their late night at the ball game. David took the boys tonight back to the car while Jenny, Mark, Jimmy and I finished the hike. It was a beautiful hike and a great view of Phoenix! To really enjoy any outdoor activities here in June, you have to be ready to start them at five or six in the morning.
We played a game with Mark and Jenny where you try to find the classic cactus, which has two arms! Mark won with one cactus.
Lee ran a couple of errands and them met Jenny, Mark and her mom for lunch at another Dine-in, Drivers and Dives restaurant called Joe's Farm Grill, where they grow all their own fresh fruits and veggies. They ha an awesome outdoor place to eat and you could not even tell it was 110 degrees!
Jenny, her mom, and myself!
Jenny and I spent the afternoon visiting and went and got gelato! Yum! For dinner, they came out and we grilled out and played corn hole at the camper!
Trying to get a picture, the sun was right in our eyes!
I was able to get this picture of a roadrunner (at least that is what I think it was), but we also saw a mom with about 10 babies running across the road! On our way to the campground, we also saw two coyotes!
Our camper at night!
I love knowing that old friends just get better with time! Miss you already Jenny!
