We drove in from our campsite just outside of glacier, got set up and got our lunches packed before we headed out for a hike.
Avalanche Lake was recommended to us, so we decided to give that a try! It was a 5 mile hike round trip, but the first three- fourths of a mile was a long this rushing river. The sound was amazing and it was beautiful.
As I mentioned before, the two little boys like two things about a hike – rocks that are small enough to throw into water and Wroxeter large enough to climb over. This hike had both. In addition, they love to "feel the water". Down by the water was slippery, so here David was helping Logan feel the water!
When we got to the end of the hike, there was this beautiful, secluded lake. There were five waterfalls that fell down towards the lake. It only would've been better if nobody else was around :-)
So this is where we decided to have lunch for the day!
The picture below made me laugh, because Logan could not keep his eyes off the squirrel that was encroaching on the ladies lunch that was right next to us.
We told the boys on the way back from the lake that we would stop and take pictures and climb on rocks and throw rocks!
Below is a tree that has fallen over and this is its root system.
