Do you speak code?

We went to a summer pig roast today with some people that David works with. There were many police people there. The great part about being around all of them is that you hear so many hysterical stories. The hardest part is that every two seconds you have to ask one of them... what does that code mean? What does that signal mean? What are you talking about? They are so used to talking on the radio that they often forget that non-police people have no idea what crime they are describing in their stories.

While we were there, JMS must have gone down the large, inflatable water slide 100 times. He knows no strangers and it only took him about 2 seconds to fit right in with all of the other kids. He has a great leadership potential. HAS ran all over the place entertaining anyone that would look at him. All in all... great day.

Fun Family Day

We started off the morning going for a 5-mile bike ride around a lake at a local county park, Tribble Mill. We have a bike trailer that HAS loves to ride in. He loves it the most when we go down hills as fast as we can, he just giggles his head off. We adjusted his helmet, so it no longer falls in his face, and now there is nothing about riding bikes that he doesn't like. I'll say, "Let's go ride our bikes" and he'll head over to the open garage door and go out and pick up his helmet. JMS is riding so much better than he used to. His legs are stronger, so he doesn't give up on the hills nearly as often as he used to. Today, he only had to get off his bike and push once. Initially, I wasn't sure about this whole bike riding thing. I wasn't convinced that David would love it, nor was I sure how the boys would do. However, after today, I feel very strongly that this activity is something that we can do together as a family for a long time. It's also so much better on my knees than running is.

How big is too big?

So... when I was pregnant with HAS, I gained 75 pounds. I will give a good bit of that credit to being on bedrest from 23 weeks until 35 weeks. I also didn't take many pictures, because what is there to take pictures of when you are in the hospital for 65 days? There are only so many ways you can make the walls look good enough to get into a picture. Anyway, I decided to take more pictures and hopefully gain less weight with this pregnancy. I am 24 weeks pregnant now. I went into the hospital right before I was 23 weeks pregnant with HAS? I am currently going to the doctor every 2 weeks so he can make sure I am not having the same issues I had when I was pregnant the first time. The only thing I miss about the bedrest is the fact that twice a day, I got to listen to HAS's heartbeat for an hour and I got to see pictures of him every week. I am missing that with this baby #3, name unknown.

You know you're happy...

We went to Kohl's last night and decided to let HAS 'walk' with us rather than ride in a stroller. Well, those of you that know Him well, know there really is no walking. He ran or toddled up and down the aisles, under the racks of clothes, and was trying to play his own version of hide-n-seek. The best part of this whole thing was his laugh. He laughed and laughed as though no one was watching him and he was in his own world. He had that deep, belly laugh that is saved for those moments when you know you are truly content.

Pictures of Disney World

JMS in the Lion King Show.

Both boys tried to pull the sword out of the stone...
No luck for either one..

Let the blogging begin...

A friend I haven't seen in probably 8 years inspired me to blog. I'm hoping this is something that i can keep up with. I have several friends whose blogs I follow, but I thought I would try starting one myself.

School ended today!!!!!!! For at least 10 weeks, I don't have to get up at 5:00 in the morning. I get to spend my days with my boys doing the things that I want to do. I will be having doctor's appointments frequently to check on the stability of my unborn son, due to arrive September 18, 2009. Although, as a math major, I think if he was born on 9/9/09 that would be pretty darn cool.
